The lifeless body of 12-year-old Ahmet Erçil, who fell into the water while trying to retrieve his sandal that had fallen into the Tigris River in the Cizre district of Şırnak, has been found. An investigation into the incident is ongoing.

The lifeless body of a 12-year-old boy who fell into the Tigris River while trying to retrieve his slipper has been found in the Cizre district of Şırnak. Yesterday evening, 12-year-old Ahmet Erçil lost his balance and fell into the water while trying to get his slipper that had fallen into the Tigris River. Erçil was swept away by the current and went missing in the water. Upon notification, AFAD, Cizre Municipality fire department, and diving teams were dispatched to the scene.

Search efforts, which were interrupted due to darkness, resumed in the morning. In the search operations conducted with boats on the surface and divers and underwater cameras below the water, the lifeless body of the little boy was found. Ahmet Erçil's body was taken to the morgue of Cizre State Hospital for an autopsy after an investigation by the prosecutor's office at the scene.
