WINNER GETS $50 MILLION
FIFA had created a historic prize pool of $727 million in total for this tournament, which featured 48 countries. The team that takes the trophy to its museum at the end of the tournament will receive a massive $50 million in revenue. The team that loses in the final and becomes the world runner-up will put $33 million into its coffers as a consolation prize.
A FIRST: CHAMPIONSHIP RING
This final will go down in history not only for its high prize but also for a first-time event. For the first time in tournament history, special championship rings will be presented to the players of the winning team. During the ceremony, temporary replica rings will be given to the coach and captain; afterward, 30 personalized rings specially designed for the winning team will be delivered to their actual owners. On one side of the ring, the World Cup will appear, and on the other side, symbols of the champion country.
