With the announcement of Sebat Gençlik Spor's championship and their promotion to the Nesine 2nd League, a great pride was felt in Akçaabat, while an important news came from Akçaabat Mayor Osman Nuri Ekim regarding the construction of a new stadium for the city.
STADIUM NEWS FROM MAYOR OSMAN NURI EKİM In a statement made after the championship, Mayor Osman Nuri Ekim emphasized that Sebat Gençlik Spor is a long-established club that is as old as our Republic, and expressed that they are working on new projects to further strengthen the city's sports infrastructure following the achieved success.
Mayor Ekim stated that they want to bring a modern stadium, which Akçaabat has needed for many years, to the city, saying, "Sebat Gençlik Spor is a team that is as old as our Republic. Right now, they have shown success by announcing their championship and moving up to the second league. We are experiencing the pride of a well-deserved championship that belongs to all our football players, our managers, and our president, all of Akçaabat. Hopefully, with this championship, we will take Sebat Gençlik Spor to even greater heights. This championship will be a means to that end. We want to compete in higher leagues. In this context, we want to bring a beautiful stadium to our city. We aim to create a larger and more beautiful stadium at a point to the west of the city than the currently played stadium. With a beautiful project that is harmonious with its surroundings, the stadium problem of our district will be solved. When we receive the trophy, we will also have celebrations. The trophy will come after the next or the following match, and we will have our celebrations as well," he said.
STADIUM NEED WILL BE SOLVED WITH A PERMANENT SOLUTION The planned new stadium is aimed to be implemented as a modern project with a larger capacity than the existing field, in harmony with its surroundings. With the project planned in the western part of the city, it is aimed to permanently solve the long-standing stadium need of Akçaabat. Mayor Ekim stated that with the championship achieved by Sebat Gençlik Spor, the city's goals in the sports field have grown even larger, adding that the new stadium project will provide significant contributions to both the club and the development of young athletes.
