The Court of Cassation found lawful the three-month prison sentence for a person who sent numerous messages saying "Let's get back together" to their ex-fiancée in Sakarya, whom they wanted to reconcile with.

The 12th Criminal Chamber of the Court of Cassation upheld the three-month prison sentence given to the defendant for the crime of "disturbing the peace and tranquility of individuals," who sent numerous messages to reconcile with his ex-fiancée.

According to the Chamber's decision, the engaged couple living in Sakarya separated after a while due to disagreements. Unable to accept the separation, the man began sending messages to his ex-fiancée with content like "let's get back together."

THE EX-FIANCEE WHO WAS DISTURBED FILED A COMPLAINT

The woman, disturbed by the man's persistent requests, printed the messages and filed a complaint with the Sakarya Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.

THREE-MONTH PRISON SENTENCE WAS IMPOSED

The defendant, who appeared before the judge at the Sakarya 3rd Criminal Court of First Instance for the crime of "disturbing the peace and tranquility of individuals," was sentenced to three months in prison by the local court.

Upon the defendant's appeal against the local court's decision, the 12th Criminal Chamber of the Court of Cassation reviewed the case and upheld the conviction for the crime of "disturbing the peace and tranquility of individuals," finding it lawful.

The Chamber's decision stated that the proceedings during the trial were conducted in accordance with the procedure and law, and it was determined that the act was carried out by the defendant based on all the collected evidence, indicating that no legal violation was found in the conviction ruling against the defendant.
