The Istanbul Governorship has decided to close the Taksim station of the M2 Yenikapı-Hacıosman Metro Line and the F1 Taksim-Kabataş Funicular Line to operation until further notice. The decision was announced via a post on Metro Istanbul's official social media account.

In a statement made by the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality on Metro Istanbul's social media account, it was stated: "In line with the decision taken by the Istanbul Governorship, as of 10:00 on Sunday, June 21, until further notice;
The Taksim station of our M2 Yenikapı-Hacıosman Metro Line and our F1 Taksim-Kabataş Funicular Line will be closed to operation. All entrances and exits of our M2 line's Şişhane station, except the Kasımpaşa exit, will be closed to passenger use. Our vehicles will continue their journeys without stopping at Taksim station."
