The Ministry of Trade has accelerated product inspections, especially for children's clothing and toys, ahead of the Ramadan Feast. The Ministry, which explains whether the products offered for sale by companies are safe through the Unsafe Product Information System (GÜBİS), has recently decided to ban the market release and recall of 7 products.
The findings of the Ministry have revealed the risks associated with products, especially those related to children. As a result of the inspections announced by the Ministry since the beginning of March, a toy gun branded Delta, which failed the representative bullet test and posed a risk of injury, was banned from sale and recalled.
CARRYING CHEMICAL RISKS
Additionally, a toy gun branded Bayraklı Gaming was also banned and recalled due to failing the phthalate test, as it posed chemical risks, as well as risks of injury and choking.
RECALL DECISION FOR WATER-GROWING TOY
A recall decision was also made regarding a water-growing toy, which could not be identified by brand, due to the risk it posed to child health and safety.
BUTTON OF SCHOOL UNIFORM RECEIVED "FAIL" RESULT
In the Ministry's inspections, children's clothing, including school uniforms, were also found to be risky products. In the examination, the children's school uniform branded Elegance By Özakkaymak received a "Fail" result in the Ecology Tests Lead (Pb) section for the button on the product.
DRAWSTRING CORDS POSE CHOKING RISK
A recall decision was also made regarding this product, which failed the lead test. The Rio Bambam branded Blue Tracksuit was found not to meet the standards for cords and drawstrings used in children's clothing and posed a choking risk, while the Zng branded red dress for ages 7-14 was recalled due to not meeting safety requirements for children's clothing and the necessary features for cords and drawstrings, posing risks of choking and injury.
MARKET RELEASE HAS BEEN BANNED
Moreover, a choking risk was also identified in the D. Blue Sweat Shirt product of the children's clothing brand Mkek Ankaragücü Sports. The market release of this product was also banned, and a decision was made to recall the product.
