The Ministry of Justice announced that the claims regarding the investigation into the death of Rojin Kabaiş—that "no DNA samples were taken from her clothes and no biological examination was conducted"—do not reflect the truth. The Ministry reported that Kabaiş's clothes were thoroughly examined both at the Van Gendarmerie Criminal Laboratory and the Forensic Medicine Institute Biology Department, and that numerous biological samples were taken from different areas for DNA analysis.
A statement was made by the Ministry of Justice regarding the allegations that "the Forensic Medicine Institute did not take DNA samples from the clothes of Rojin Kabaiş and did not conduct the necessary biological examinations" within the scope of the investigation into her death.
"DOES NOT REFLECT THE TRUTH"
In the statement made on the Ministry's social media account, it was stated that some media outlets contained allegations that did not reflect the truth, claiming that "the Forensic Medicine Institute did not take DNA samples from her clothes and did not conduct the necessary biological examinations" within the scope of the investigation into Rojin Kabaiş's death.
In the statement, it was emphasized that biological examinations and DNA analyses were performed on the clothes reported to have been removed from Rojin Kabaiş, and it was reported that these clothes were first sent to the Van Gendarmerie Criminal Laboratory, and a report was prepared regarding the biological examinations conducted.
"EXAMINED BOTH AT THE GENDARMERIE CRIMINAL LABORATORY AND THE FORENSIC MEDICINE INSTITUTE BIOLOGY SPECIALIZATION DEPARTMENT"
The statement, noting that the clothes were later sent to the Forensic Medicine Institute Biology Specialization Department and a detailed report was prepared as a result of the examinations, said: "The Forensic Medicine Institute Biology Specialization Department took numerous stain and swab samples from different areas of the underwear, tracksuit top, and tracksuit bottom. Visual stain examination, blood and human blood research, menstruation-related blood examination, autosomal STR DNA analysis, and Y-STR DNA analyses were conducted on these samples. Therefore, the claim that 'DNA samples were not taken from Rojin Kabaiş's clothes' is clearly contrary to the truth.
The clothes were examined both at the Van Gendarmerie Criminal Laboratory and the Forensic Medicine Institute Biology Specialization Department, and numerous biological samples were taken from different areas of the clothes, and necessary DNA analyses were performed. The public is kindly requested not to rely on unverified, misleading, and disinformation content regarding the ongoing investigation."
