The Ministry of Justice has made a regulation to remove the age limit of 35 for civil servant recruitment, allowing the age requirement in the Law on Civil Servants No. 657 to be taken as the basis. The new regulation aims to make the human resource structure of the justice organization fairer and more transparent.
While the age limit of 35 years required to become a civil servant in the Ministry of Justice has been lifted, a regulation has been made to base the age requirement on the Law No. 657 on State Civil Servants for appointments. The regulation, titled "Regulation on the Amendment of the Ministry of Justice Civil Servant Examination, Appointment, and Transfer Regulation," has been published in the Official Gazette and has come into effect.
FUNDAMENTAL CHANGE IN THE REGULATION
Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç stated in a social media post regarding the regulation that comprehensive changes have been made to make the human resource structure of the justice organization fairer, more transparent, and suitable for the requirements of the age. Tunç announced that the age limit of 35 years required for civil servant recruitment has been lifted and that the age requirement in the Law No. 657 on State Civil Servants will be taken as a basis.
PRIORITY QUOTA RIGHT INTRODUCED
Explaining that physiotherapist and sign language interpreter positions have been added to the Ministry, Tunç stated that the conditions for appointment have been determined, and revisions have been made in the practical exam for court clerk positions to enhance the integrity of meaning. Tunç also expressed that the age limit of 30 years has been lifted for the recruitment of protection and security personnel, and he noted: A priority quota right has been introduced for graduates of relevant fields for the positions of court clerk, bailiff, prison clerk, and execution and protection officer. The KPSS score types for high school, associate degree, and bachelor's degree will be evaluated independently, and comparisons will not be made between scores of different levels. The rotation provisions that were not implemented for positions subject to mandatory assignment have been abolished. Requests for voluntary relocations of personnel will be taken at least once a year.
Minister Tunç wished that the regulation would be beneficial for the justice organization.
