The incident occurred around 17:00 in the Nurtepe neighborhood. According to information obtained, his girlfriend Özlem E. (50), who had not heard from actor Serhat Kılıç since Thursday, came to the house where Kılıç lived. After knocking on the door and receiving no answer, Özlem E., worried about his life, entered Kılıç's home with the key she had.
Özlem E. found Kılıç motionless, sitting in a single armchair in the living room. Noticing that Kılıç was not breathing and his body was cold, Özlem E. called the 112 Emergency Call Center for help. Upon the report, Kağıthane Public Order Bureau teams and medical teams were dispatched to the address. Medical teams determined that Kılıç had lost his life.

Özlem E., consulted by the police, stated that her boyfriend Kılıç had lymphoma and that she had not heard from him since Thursday. Police teams launched an investigation into Kılıç's death.
