A forest fire broke out yesterday between the Büyükyayla and Fethiye neighborhoods of Seyitgazi district. While teams were dispatched to the area upon notification, Eskişehir Forest Regional Director İsmail Çetin participated in the extinguishing efforts with the first intervention team. The team, including Çetin, who managed the teams in the area from the very beginning of the fire, along with one construction machine, was caught in the flames when the wind suddenly changed direction.
Water was dropped by helicopter in the area where the team called for help with an emergency code. While there were no injuries or fatalities in the incident, one construction machine belonging to Eti Bor Madeni, which was sent to assist, was caught in the flames and burned.
