It has been learned that Kerimcan Durmaz, a social media influencer who was arrested for allegedly promoting illegal gambling, stated during his interrogation at the Peace Criminal Court that his monthly income is 500,000 Turkish lira.

Social media influencer Kerimcan Durmaz, who was detained on charges of promoting illegal gambling, was arrested by the court he was brought before.

A INVESTIGATION HAD BEEN INITIATED

The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office is continuing its investigations into accounts belonging to some social media influencers with a high number of followers that were advertising illegal gambling sites. An investigation had been initiated against influencer Durmaz on the grounds of violating the "Law on the Regulation of Betting and Games of Chance in Football and Other Sports Competitions."

HE WAS ARRESTED

Durmaz, who was detained as part of the investigation, was transferred to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan after completing his procedures at the police station. After giving a statement to the prosecutor's office, Durmaz was arrested by the Istanbul Peace Criminal Court, which issued a request for his arrest, and sent to prison. It was noted that there was a high suspicion of Durmaz fleeing and hiding, and the arrest decision was made on the grounds that judicial control measures would be insufficient.

    In his statement at the police station regarding the illegal gambling advertisement made at the venue he performed, Durmaz said, "This venue is an entertainment place located in Malta. It is situated on the bar street, one of the busiest places in the country. I went to this venue, as I always do, just to perform as a DJ. I was unaware that the people we agreed with were doing this. If I had known, I wouldn't have gone." Durmaz stated that he received 10,000 euros from the organization.

    According to a report by Sabah, the interrogation of Kerimcan Durmaz, who was arrested and sent to prison, has come to light. Stating that his monthly income is 500,000 lira, Durmaz claimed that he did not advertise on his social media accounts and that he did not commit a crime knowingly and willingly.
