The mystery in the investigation into the death of Osman Oruç, whose body was found in a wooded area in Kartal, has been solved. Police teams, who examined security camera recordings and phone calls, ensured the arrest of Erkan K., whom they had detained.
A new development has occurred in the murder of Osman Oruç, whose body was found in a forested area in Kartal. Suspect Erkan K., taken into custody after footage from security cameras, was arrested and sent to prison. The suspect, identified as the last person Osman Oruç, who was determined to have been killed by a broken neck, contacted, was seen assaulting Oruç in the footage but denied the charges. The suspect was arrested by the court.
IT WAS REVEALED THAT HE WAS KILLED BY A BROKEN NECK
A male corpse was found on May 26 in a wooded area in Kartal Yakacık District. Examinations determined the body belonged to Osman Oruç, and an autopsy at the Forensic Medicine Institute revealed that Oruç died from a broken neck. Following this development, an investigation was launched by the Homicide Bureau of the Public Order Branch Directorate.
MOMENTS OF ASSAULT CAUGHT ON SECURITY CAMERA
Police teams examined the cell phone records of the murdered Osman Oruç and scrutinized hundreds of hours of security camera footage. In the investigation conducted by the Homicide Bureau, it was determined that Osman Oruç had intensive phone conversations with a person named Erkan K. on the day he was killed.
Consequently, security cameras around Sultanbeyli Gölet Park, where the common base signal of the duo was detected, were examined. The footage showed Osman Oruç meeting with Erkan K., and during the meeting, Erkan K. was seen assaulting Oruç and leading him toward a car.
DEFENSE OF "WE WERE JOKING"
Following the obtained evidence, Erkan K., who was sought, was taken into custody in Üsküdar. It was learned that the suspect, whose statement was taken at the Public Order Branch Directorate, did not accept the charges, claiming that he did not assault Osman Oruç on the day of the incident and that there was joking between them.
After the completion of procedures at the police station, suspect Erkan K. was referred to the courthouse and was arrested by the court, then sent to prison.
