The lifeless body found by the roadside in the Gazipaşa district of Antalya has been identified as belonging to 45-year-old Saliha Turan. Investigations revealed signs of drowning on the body, and Turan's husband, Mehmet Turan, along with their son, who was on leave from an open prison, were taken into custody. While the woman's husband was arrested, their son was also handed over to a closed prison.
On February 24, Tuesday, around 08:30, a chilling incident occurred in the Sazak area of the D-400 highway in the Zeytinada neighborhood, approximately 25 kilometers away from the center of Gazipaşa in Antalya. Farmers who went to the area to water their garden noticed a woman lying motionless in a 2-meter deep ditch and reported it.
TRACES OF DROWNING WERE FOUND
Teams determined that the woman had lost her life. The lifeless body, which had no identification on it, was taken to the morgue for an autopsy. It was noted that traces of drowning were also found on the body. The lifeless body was identified as belonging to Saliha Turan, registered in Adana.
HUSBAND AND SON ARRESTED
Gendarmerie teams detained Saliha Turan's husband, Mehmet Turan, and her son Y.T. (24), who was on leave from an open prison, as part of the investigation. In his first statement, Mehmet Turan denied the murder accusation and was arrested by the court, while Y.T. was handed over to a closed prison at the request of the prosecutor. Turan's other two children were taken into care by the Ministry of Family and Social Services. Meanwhile, the owner of the vehicle believed to have been used in the incident was also detained. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
