In the primary election to determine the presidential candidate in the CHP, the first name to compete with Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu has announced their candidacy. Former CHP Member of Parliament Dursun Çiçek announced his candidacy during a broadcast on TV100.

Stating that "I will be in Ankara tomorrow for the candidacy application," Çiçek said, "If a primary election is to be held, there must be at least 2-3 candidates so that the members can express their preferences. A single candidate primary election is neither democratic nor ethical. We have experienced a primary election. We have always defended the primary election and we want to contribute to this process. I will be in Ankara to submit my application tomorrow," he expressed.

INFORMED İMAMOĞLU AND ÖZEL

Dursun Çiçek, who announced his candidacy, also informed CHP Chairman Özgür Özel and İBB President Ekrem İmamoğlu about his candidacy application, and received the response "it is your discretion."
