As snowfall continues to affect Istanbul, there has been a crowding at public transportation stations in many areas, while the sea of people at the Yenibosna metrobus station was captured by cameras.
Snowfall, which started primarily in the northern regions of Istanbul, continues to negatively affect life in all districts.
CROWD AT METROBÜS STOPS
Many citizens are forced to wait for a long time at metro, metrobus, and bus stops across the city due to the heavy congestion. Long queues have been observed at the entrances of stops in central locations such as Mecidiyeköy, Küçükçekmece, Yenibosna, and Şişli on the European side.
CITIZENS SOUGHT SHELTER UNDER OVERPASSES
Again, at bus stops in the main areas, citizens are taking shelter under overpasses to avoid being affected by the snowfall. On the Asian side, there is congestion at many points where public transport lines intersect, such as Altunizade, Uzunçayır, and Bostancı.
TRAFFIC CONGESTION CONTINUES
On the other hand, traffic congestion is also at around 90% according to the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IBB) Cep Trafik application due to the snowfall. On the European side, vehicles are struggling to move on the roads leading to Istanbul Airport in Arnavutköy due to heavy rainfall. Traffic congestion is occurring at the entrances to the 15 July Martyrs Bridge and the Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge towards Ankara due to slow-moving vehicles. On the Asian side, vehicles are also struggling to move on main streets, especially in Beykoz, due to the rainfall. It has been observed that traffic has come to a standstill at many points on the 15 July Martyrs Bridge, Fatih Sultan Mehmet Bridge, and Eurasia Tunnel towards Edirne.
