With the instruction given to the Financial Crimes Investigation Department of the Istanbul Police Department, searches and seizure operations have begun in 72 residences and workplaces belonging to the suspects.
MUTLU'S FIRST STATEMENT
Bayrampaşa Mayor Hasan Mutlu, who was detained, made the following statement: "Dear neighbors, I have only served Bayrampaşa and you, my valuable fellow citizens, until today. I have never thought of taking a step back on this path we embarked on to be worthy of you, and I will not think of it."
My head is held high, and my forehead is clean. I have no business that I cannot account for. The detention I am experiencing today is merely a result of our bringing services to Bayrampaşa after 30 years. What has happened is nothing but political operations and baseless slanders.
Rest assured; together with you, the valuable people of Bayrampaşa, we will overcome these slanders and disgrace. I once again entrust myself to the conscience and support of the people of Bayrampaşa."
