A technician working at Kastamonu Airport took his own life in August 2025, leaving a note behind. As a result of the investigation initiated regarding the incident, a loan shark network that was put under surveillance was dismantled after 4.5 months, and 9 suspects were arrested.
The technician F.Y. on duty at Kastamonu Airport took his own life on August 18, 2025. F.Y. left a note regarding the events that led him to suicide before the tragic incident.
NETWORK MONITORED FOR 4.5 MONTHS
As part of the investigation initiated by the Kastamonu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the death of technician F.Y., a network involved in usury was put under surveillance. As a result of 4.5 months of technical monitoring and efforts, an operation was carried out against individuals engaged in usury.
Simultaneous searches were conducted at 11 different addresses determined by the teams of the Kastamonu Provincial Police Department's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime (KOM) Branch under the coordination of the Kastamonu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office.
SUSPECTS ARRESTED
In the operation carried out against individuals committing the crimes of "establishing, managing, and being a member of an organization for the purpose of committing a crime," "usury," and "threat," a large number of digital materials, POS devices, cash, and gold were seized.
In the operation, 10 suspects were taken into custody. After completing their procedures at the police station, suspects E.G., C.G., O.Y., İ.G., E.Y., G.Y., T.G., U.Ü., and E.Y. were referred to the Kastamonu Courthouse after undergoing a health check. 9 suspects brought before the judge were arrested.
