Saudi Arabia has announced that it will impose a $5,000 fine and a 10-year entry ban on those who come to perform Hajj without permission. According to the new regulation, those attempting to enter Mecca without a Hajj permit will face a fine of 20,000 riyals.
Saudi Arabia has announced that heavy penalties will be imposed on those who do not comply with the rules during this year's Hajj season, including a fine of approximately 5,000 dollars and a 10-year entry ban for those who come for Hajj without permission.
In a statement from the Saudi Arabian Ministry of Interior, it was announced that starting tomorrow and lasting for 44 days, those attempting to enter the holy city of Mecca and sacred areas without a Hajj permit will face fines of up to 20,000 riyals (approximately 5,300 dollars).
PENALTIES FOR INTERMEDIARIES AS WELL
Those who assist individuals attempting to perform Hajj with a visit visa will face fines of up to 100,000 riyals (approximately 26,000 dollars). Additionally, foreign visitors attempting to perform Hajj without permission will be deported and banned from entering the country for 10 years. Vehicles carrying visit visa holders may also be confiscated by court order. Last year, a total of 1,833,164 people performed the Hajj pilgrimage, including 221,854 from within Saudi Arabia.
