In a statement from the U.S. military, it was reported that since March 15, over 800 Houthi targets have been struck in attacks on Yemen, and hundreds of Houthi fighters have been killed.

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) issued a written statement regarding the attacks on Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen since March 15. The statement noted that the attacks aimed to restore freedom of navigation and American deterrence and were carried out using comprehensive intelligence information, stating, "CENTCOM has struck more than 800 targets since the beginning of Operation Rough Rider. Hundreds of Houthi fighters, including senior officials of Houthi missile and drone units, and many Houthi leaders have been killed in these attacks."

"WE HAVE REDUCED THE SPEED AND EFFECTIVENESS OF HOUTHIS' ATTACKS"

The statement emphasized that U.S. attacks targeted the military capabilities of the Houthis, stating, "Numerous command and control facilities, air defense systems, advanced weapon production facilities, and advanced weapon depots have been destroyed in the attacks. These depots housed advanced conventional weapons, including anti-ship ballistic and cruise missiles, drone systems, and unmanned surface vessels used in Houthi attacks on international shipping routes." It was asserted that U.S. attacks have succeeded in weakening the military capabilities of the Houthis, stating, "Our operations have reduced the speed and effectiveness of Houthi attacks. Ballistic missile attacks have decreased by 69%, and one-way drone attacks have decreased by 55%." It was also reported that U.S. attacks targeting the Ras Isa Port have struck at the Houthis' sources of income.

"WE WILL CONTINUE TO INCREASE PRESSURE"

The statement claimed that Iran continues to support the Houthis, stating, "The Houthis can only continue to attack U.S. forces with the support of the Iranian regime. We will continue to increase pressure until we achieve the goal of restoring freedom of navigation and American deterrence in the region." It was noted that details of ongoing or future operations against the Houthis are kept confidential, stating, "As long as they continue to obstruct freedom of navigation, we will continue to increase pressure and weaken Houthi capabilities."

THE U.S. MILITARY ACTED ON TRUMP'S ORDERS

U.S. President Donald Trump announced on March 15 that he had instructed the U.S. military to launch a major attack against the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen, stating, "The Houthis have waged an unrelenting campaign of piracy and violence against American ships, aircraft, and drones." Following this development, CENTCOM carried out numerous airstrikes in various parts of Yemen.
