The New Year was celebrated with enthusiasm in many parts of Turkey. Squares were filled in many cities, and events were organized. The New Year's scenes in three major cities were as follows: ISTANBULAs every year, Taksim Square was again the center of New Year celebrations in Istanbul. The crowd continued to grow in Taksim Square, where security measures were increased. The bustling streets of the city were filled with citizens just hours before the New Year. Citizens and tourists gathered, as they do every year, in Taksim Square, Beşiktaş Square, Ortaköy Square, Nişantaşı, and Bağdat Avenue. While fireworks lit up the sky over the Golden Horn, a light show was also presented at the Galata Tower. ANKARAIn Kızılay, residents of the capital began to gather in the evening hours, and as midnight approached, crowds formed around Güvenpark and Kızılay Square. Citizens entered 2025 by saying, "Welcome, New Year," and enjoyed themselves with music. As the first minutes of the New Year arrived, Ankarans lit torches and released wish lanterns and firecrackers into the sky. Mounted police were on duty in Kızılay. Citizens who came to celebrate the New Year showed interest in the mounted police and took photos. IZMIRThe 90s-themed program organized by the İzmir Metropolitan Municipality was held with DJ Nihat Sırdar. Citizens welcomed the New Year with old songs.
