US-IRAN TALKS WILL CONTINUE IN VIENNA
Oman's Foreign Minister Bedr bin Hamed al-Busaidi, who mediated the Iran-US negotiations, reported that significant progress was made during the talks in Geneva and that the parties would reconvene after consultations with their countries.
Foreign Minister Busaidi stated on the social media account of the US-based X company that there was a statement regarding the third round of nuclear negotiations held in Geneva, Switzerland, between the Iranian and US delegations.
Busaidi said, "We completed the day after making significant progress in the negotiations between the US and Iran. We will continue the talks shortly after consultations in the relevant capitals. Technical-level discussions will take place next week in Vienna. I thank the negotiators, the International Atomic Energy Agency, and our host, the Swiss government, for their efforts."
"WE REJECT THE TRANSFER OF NUCLEAR MATERIALS ABROAD"
According to a report by Iran's state television based on diplomatic sources, the issue of transferring Iran's enriched nuclear materials abroad has been completely rejected, and it was stated that such a step would not be taken.
The Tehran administration has particularly raised the issue of lifting sanctions during ongoing contacts. The Iranian side noted that the lifting of economic sanctions is one of the main topics in the negotiations.
NEGOTIATION PROCESS BETWEEN IRAN AND THE US
The nuclear negotiations between Iran and the US, interrupted by Israeli and US attacks on Iran in June 2025, were revitalized through the initiatives of regional countries, especially Turkey, and the mediation of Oman.
While the US's threats of attack and massive military buildup continue, the parties met in Oman on February 6 for indirect negotiations and agreed to continue the contacts. Subsequently, the talks continued in Geneva on February 17. The parties reported progress in the discussions and later agreed to reconvene in Geneva on February 26.
The parties took a break after a meeting that started at 09:00 local time this morning and lasted about 3 hours, and then reconvened in the evening.
Iran is demanding the lifting of sanctions in exchange for continuing its nuclear program within the framework of limitations that would prevent the production of atomic bombs. The US, on the other hand, wants Tehran to completely halt its uranium enrichment activities and to export its stock of highly enriched uranium out of the country.
