According to the news reported by A Spor; Bayern Munich, which opened the door at 20 million Euros, had rejected Beşiktaş's first offer of 8 million Euros. It was stated that the black-and-white management, which did not back down from this transfer, managed to convince Bayern Munich as a result of intense negotiations and that they shook hands at the club level.

Beşiktaş, which resolved the issues with the German club, had reached a happy ending in its previous meetings with the player's side. The successful 29-year-old goalkeeper, who earns a net 5.5 million Euros from Bayern Munich, played an active role in accelerating the transfer process by saying "yes" to Beşiktaş's annual offer of 6 million Euros.
