A new decision has been issued in the judicial process regarding the election of the deputy mayor in Üsküdar Municipality. The Regional Administrative Court rejected the objection filed by Üsküdar Municipality against the decision to repeat the election. Following the notification of the decision, it is expected that the election process for the deputy mayor will begin anew.
The election process in Uskudar is starting anew. With the latest decision of the Regional Administrative Court, the legal obstacle to renewing the acting mayor election has been removed.
AK PARTY HAD OBJECTED
After Uskudar Mayor Sinem Dedetas was arrested and dismissed from duty, the acting mayor election was held in the Municipal Council. Following the election, the AK Party objected to the results, and upon the application, a decision was made to renew the acting mayor election. Uskudar Municipality, however, appealed this decision, taking the process to the Regional Administrative Court.
MUNICIPALITY'S OBJECTION REJECTED
The Regional Administrative Court, which reviewed the case file, rejected the objection of the Uskudar Municipality. Thus, the decision to renew the acting mayor election remains in effect. With the latest decision, voting will take place again in the Uskudar Municipal Council for the acting mayor seat.
