It has been revealed that Halit Ergül, the owner of the Grand Kartal Hotel, which is the burial place for 78 people, is constructing his third hotel in the town of Karacasu. The hotel, planned to have 35 rooms and built within a forest, has completed its rough construction, and it was observed that a construction machine is working on the site. The phrase "You should not say what I have become, but what I will become in this life. Murderer Halit," on a banner hung by citizens in the area, drew attention.
In the Grand Kartal Hotel located in the ski resort of Kartalkaya, 78 people lost their lives in a fire that occurred on the night of January 21. As part of the investigation launched after the fire, 19 suspects, including the hotel's owner Halit Ergül, were arrested. It was also reported that Halit Ergül's 5-star Gazelle Resort Hotel in the Karacasu district of Bolu was closed after the tragedy.
