The trial of the defendants, who are accused of causing infant deaths in private hospitals and obtaining unjust profits, continues. One of the names defending during the judicial process is Ayşe Müzeyyen Yurtoğlu, the owner of Private Güney Hospital, who is a defendant not in custody.

"SO THAT MY INSURANCE PREMIUMS CONTINUE..."

Yurtoğlu, known by the code name "Aunt," stated, "I am a middle school graduate. I worked in Germany for many years. I bought Esenler Güney Hospital in 1984 so that my insurance premiums would continue, and I have been the owner of this hospital since then. My grandchildren were born in this hospital, and I also had surgery here."

HOW DID SHE CROSS PATHS WITH FIRAT SARI?

Yurtoğlu, who explained the process of how she crossed paths with the gang leader Fırat Sarı, said, "I am the Chairman of the Board of Güney Hospital. Our birth rates increased. We needed doctors. We were looking for doctors. We looked at consultancy fees. We couldn't agree. At the suggestion of a friend, I called Mr. Fırat. He came to the hospital. We talked, and he said they provided consultancy services to many hospitals. We accepted, and the process began. For a while, a nurse came, a doctor came, and when there were problems at night, they came themselves. When there were issues, I was contacted, and they said, 'There are problems in the consultancy company, we warned them, you should talk to them too.' So, I called Mr. Fırat for a meeting," she expressed.

"HE THREATENED THE CHIEF PHYSICIAN"

Yurtoğlu stated that they parted ways with Fırat Sarı during this meeting, saying, "We started talking to Mr. Fırat, but he began to threaten and insult the chief physician. Our chief physician shouted, 'You can't explain the medicine at all.' He replied, 'I do not accept such a thing.' I said, 'Okay, we are no longer working with you.' Mr. Fırat had previously said, 'Don't worry, I have many acquaintances. I know a prosecutor in Büyükçekmece.' When the prosecutor came from Büyükçekmece during the extraordinary inspection, I thought he was the one who made the complaint. That evening, I called him and asked, 'You made the complaint, didn't you? You know a prosecutor, you had the inspection done, right?'

"I DON'T THINK I DID ANYTHING WRONG"

Yurtoğlu continued her defense by saying, "Fırat Sarı was invoicing the hospital for payments. We were making the payment to Medisense Company. The amounts on the invoices were not high, they were around 30-40 thousand TL. The main reason we ended the agreement with Fırat Sarı was the medications. They were medications that SGK did not pay. I terminated all employees coming from Medisense Company by paying their severance pay. I do not think I did anything wrong."

"I AM A CONSCIENTIOUS PERSON"

When asked about her statement to Fırat Sarı, "They turned the intensive care unit into a storage room," the defendant replied, "I said that out of anger. It was a prosperous intensive care unit. I would never refuse to buy any device. I am a conscientious person," she stated.
