The referee of the match will inspect the pitch at 17:00 local time and will make the final decision regarding the match," he stated. Subsequently, TFF Vice President Mecnun Otyakmaz also indicated that the match was close to being postponed, saying, "It is difficult to play the match. We will not take the risk of injury; we have valuable players. The ground is rocky, and it is highly likely to be postponed," he said. The tarpaulins on the stadium pitch were removed at 17:00, and the ground was watered. Following inspections by UEFA officials and the referees of the match, it was decided that the match would be played.
