Eyüpspor's head coach Arda Turan participated in Anadolu Agency's "Pictures of the Year" voting, casting his vote for photos that reflect the pain of war and the innocence of those affected. Turan stated, "This photo has deeply saddened me," emphasizing that the images depicting the oppression in Gaza have profoundly affected him.

Eyüpspor's head coach Arda Turan participated in the "Pictures of the Year" voting, which features photos capturing significant events of 2024 and life, as seen through the lens of Anadolu Agency (AA), and cast his vote.

Arda Turan reviewed the photos taken by AA reporters and photojournalists both domestically and internationally throughout 2024, prepared with the contributions of "Roketsan, Turkcell Lifebox, and Sony," in the categories of "News," "Natural Life and Environment," "Sports," "Daily Life," and the special category added this year, "Free Syria."

In the "Free Syria" category, Turan voted for Emin Sansar's photo titled "Lists," and in the "Natural Life and Environment" category, he voted for Şebnem Coşkun's photo titled "Above the Ice, Below the Water."

"THIS PHOTO MADE ME VERY SAD"

Eyüpspor's head coach Arda Turan chose İsa Terli's photo titled "7 Hills, 5 Minarets, 1 Tower" in the "Daily Life" category, while in the "Sports" category, he expressed that he liked Mustafa Çiftçi's photo titled "Olympic Pose," which shows Swedish athlete Armand Duplantis striking a pose after breaking the Olympic record.

Turan had difficulty selecting a photo in the "News" category, as he was torn between two photos depicting Israel's attacks on Gaza.

Turan, who was caught between Ali Jadallah's photo titled "That Look" and Ashraf Amra's photo titled "Innocence," cast his vote for "Innocence." He stated that the photos in the "News" category affected him the most, saying, "Of course, all forms of war are bad. We do not want any human to die or be injured. Unfortunately, the injuries to children due to the war and the oppression of Israel made me very sad. This photo became one that deeply saddened me. I can't say it was my favorite in the voting, but it was the one that touched my heart the most, along with other similar photos. The look of this brother, the fear in his eyes, and his innocence deeply saddened and affected me." he expressed.

Regarding the book titled "Evidence," which contains visuals that clearly reveal the crimes committed by Israel in Gaza and serve as fundamental evidence, Turan commented:

"It is important to stand against injustice. I congratulate Anadolu Agency's photojournalists and hardworking journalists for their efforts in this regard. Standing against injustice is a very important value. I congratulate everyone for what they have done."
