In the Gebze district of Kocaeli, two people searching for treasure became trapped in a well they had dug, which was 10 meters deep. After 6 hours of work, the teams reached the lifeless bodies of the two individuals.
According to reports, two individuals who were digging a well for treasure in the Gebze district of Kocaeli died from poisoning, while one person was taken to the hospital. Teams worked hard for a long time to retrieve the bodies.
The incident occurred around 10:00 PM in a wooded area in the Mollafenari neighborhood of Gebze, where it is claimed that there are remnants of Greek graves. Allegedly, Temel Sever and Veysel Eroğlu, who were digging a well approximately 10 meters deep in the forest, lost consciousness.
2 PEOPLE DIED
AFAD, UMKE, fire brigade, gendarmerie, and health teams were dispatched to the area for the motionless individuals. One person who wanted to check on the unconscious individuals was also affected by the gas. After 6 hours of work, the teams reached the individuals in the well and determined that the two friends had died. One person affected by the gas was taken to the hospital.

Teams that started working to retrieve the bodies made efforts to ventilate the gas in the well. The teams occasionally faced difficult moments in the field. After the gas was ventilated, AFAD teams conducted measurements with devices. After ensuring the safety of the well, the teams began working to retrieve the bodies.
GENDARMERIE INITIATED AN INVESTIGATION
The public prosecutor arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation. After the operation, the bodies of the two individuals who died were taken to the Forensic Medicine Institute morgue for examination. The gendarmerie initiated an investigation into the incident.
