The SunExpress plane preparing for the Frankfurt-Antalya flight literally turned into an "oven" before takeoff. Passengers stranded in a cabin where the air cooling systems were allegedly not operated were kept in scorching heat of about 56 degrees Celsius for 2 hours, causing some to have panic attacks. Footage shared on social media captured the passengers' rebellion and the helplessness of children.
A literal nightmare was experienced on a passenger plane of SunExpress airline preparing to operate the Frankfurt-Antalya flight. According to allegations, passengers were kept in the cabin for about 2 hours without the aircraft's air cooling system being activated. It was reported that, with the effect of the outside temperature, the interior of the plane reached approximately 56 degrees Celsius.
CHILDREN AND BABIES WERE SEVERELY AFFECTED
In the footage shared on social media and recorded inside the plane, the severity of the situation was revealed. Due to extreme heat and lack of air, it was seen that especially babies and young children turned bright red, had difficulty breathing, and became unwell.
Moments of parents desperately trying to cool their children by using brochures and papers in their hands as fans were captured on camera.
PASSENGERS SUFFERED PANIC ATTACKS
It was claimed that some adult passengers also had panic attacks due to the extreme heat and lack of oxygen inside the cabin. While the heavy sweat droplets on the face of the passenger recording the video drew attention, he expressed the severity of the situation with these words:
"We are inside the plane, the air conditioners are not working. Children, babies are devastated by the heat. People are about to faint from the heat. The disgrace is knee-deep, nobody is making a statement!"
The footage continues with moments of passengers going into the aisles, protesting to the cabin crew, and demanding the plane doors be opened.
Following the incident that caused great distress, an official statement from the airline company on the matter is expected.
