Pedestrians who crossed the street without using the overpass located 50 meters ahead were informed by the police teams that they would face a fine for not using the overpass and for crossing at a prohibited location, and a 993 lira administrative fine was imposed. Citizens who learned that they would be fined offered various excuses.

A female pedestrian who crossed the street responded to the question, "Why didn't you use the overpass?" by saying, "The overpass is too far.
