The President's Chief Advisor, Göksel Aşan, announced that he has requested to resign from his position for personal reasons. In his statement, Aşan said, "I would like to express my gratitude to Mr. President for giving me the opportunity to serve my country under his leadership over the past 7 years."

President's Chief Advisor Göksel Aşan has decided to resign from his position. Aşan announced on his social media account that he has requested President Erdoğan to accept his resignation from his post.

"I REQUESTED MY RESIGNATION DUE TO PERSONAL REASONS"

Aşan stated in his social media announcement, "As of yesterday, I requested my resignation from the Chief Advisor position to our esteemed President due to personal reasons. I express my gratitude to our esteemed President for giving me the opportunity to serve my country under his leadership for the past 7 years."

"I WILL CONTINUE TO SERVE MY COUNTRY"

Aşan also said, "As long as my health permits, I will continue to serve my country. During my time in office, I received support and friendship from many people whose names I cannot count; may they forgive me. May God keep our fortune and path open."

WHO IS GÖKSEL AŞAN?

He was born on July 24, 1966, in Istanbul. He completed his undergraduate education in the Department of Finance at Istanbul University in 1987. Following this, he completed his master's degree in the same department at Istanbul University in 1991. He completed his doctoral education in Public Finance at Istanbul University between 1991 and 1998.

Göksel Aşan worked as a research assistant at Istanbul University from 1988 to 1998, and after obtaining his doctoral degree, he served as a faculty member at Istanbul Bilgi University starting in 1998. He became an "Associate Professor" in 2008 and received the title of Prof. Dr. in 2017.

Having held various positions at Istanbul Bilgi University for many years, Göksel Aşan served as the Vice Rector at Istanbul Aydın University in July 2018. On October 16, 2018, he was appointed as the President of the Presidential Finance Office by President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
