The latest episode of Who Wants to Be a Millionaire, broadcast on ATV, was marked by Semih Danacıoğlu, who came second in Turkey in the 2024 Higher Education Institutions Examination (YKS). Advancing to the 1 million TL question with his successful performance, the young contestant lost his chance at the grand prize with the wrong answer he gave.

The educational achievements of Semih Danacıoğlu, who participated in the program presented by Cem Öğretir, drew attention.
Danacıoğlu, a graduate of Ankara Pursaklar Science High School, became Turkey's second in the equal-weight field, Turkey's third in the verbal field, and Turkey's 38th in the numerical field in the 2024 YKS.
The young contestant, who is studying in the preparatory class of Bilkent University's Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, successfully answered the questions and managed to open the 1 million TL question.
HE EXPERIENCED DIFFICULT MOMENTS ON THE 1 MILLION TL QUESTION
Danacıoğlu was faced with the question, "Which country has the most common surname Khan?"
The contestant was presented with the following four options:
- A) Saudi Arabia
- B) Mongolia
- C) Kazakhstan
- D) India
Evaluating the question, Danacıoğlu announced his final decision as "B) Mongolia."
THE OPTION HE DID NOT CONSIDER TURNED OUT TO BE CORRECT
Following the young contestant's answer, it was announced that the correct answer was "A) Saudi Arabia." The fact that the option Danacıoğlu did not consider turned out to be correct caused surprise in the studio.
Host Cem Öğretir stated that the Pakistani immigrant population living in Saudi Arabia was effective in making the surname "Khan" common in the country.
