On November 3rd, an elderly man who went to Neua Luan Luan, one of Thailand's elite restaurants, took out his card to pay the bill of 2,000 baht (approximately 2,000 lira) after consuming the food and desserts served. THEY CHECKED THE SECURITY CAMERAAfter making his payment and leaving the restaurant, the man disappeared, while the hotel management, checking the day's revenue at the restaurant's closing, was shocked to see the payment receipt amounting to 200,000 lira. Officials stated that the receipt could have been a result of a mistake, as a bill of 200,000 lira had never been issued at the restaurant, and they checked the times the bill was paid with the security camera, confirming that the bill belonged to the elderly man. THEY SHARED A POST ON FACEBOOKAfter realizing the mistake, the restaurant took action with the bank that processed the payment to locate the customer and refund the excess amount paid. However, the bank refused the restaurant's request, stating that it could not share personal data. Officials, desperate to find the elderly man, announced on their Facebook accounts that they were looking for the elderly man in his 70s. THEY COULDN'T FIND THE CUSTOMER THEY WERE LOOKING FORThe message stated, "We are looking for a customer who dined at Neua Luan Luan, Ratchaphruek branch at 19:50. The customer paid an excess bill of 200,000 baht instead of 2,000 baht." According to the news from the Sözcü newspaper, the restaurant management updated three days after the announcement, stating that they still had not reached the elderly man and reiterated that they were open to assistance.
