The Istanbul Governor's Office has banned the sale and use of fireworks, flare guns, torches, and similar explosive-flammable materials between July 16 and October 28 as part of additional measures against the increasing risk of forest fires. The Governor's Office stated that the decision was taken within the scope of measures to prevent forest fires.
The Istanbul Governorship has added a new measure to combat the increase in forest fires during the summer months.
In a written statement from the Governorship, it was reported that the sale and use of fireworks, signal flares, torches, and similar explosive-flammable materials have been banned across Istanbul due to rising air temperatures and increased forest fire risk.

According to the statement, the ban will be in effect between July 16, 2026 and October 28, 2026. The Governorship stated that the decision was taken as an additional measure to prevent the increase in forest fires.
BAN ON ENTERING FORESTS CONTINUES
The Governorship reminded that under the previously published decision numbered 2026/1, entry into forested areas in Istanbul is also banned between June 8 and October 15, 2026.
In the statement, it was expressed that additional measures have been implemented to prevent forest fire incidents as the summer season intensifies. The Istanbul Governorship emphasized the great importance of citizens complying with the decisions taken.
