In the inspections conducted under the market surveillance and inspections of the Ministry of Trade, it was determined that a widely used household cleaning product poses a risk to consumer health. A sales ban was imposed on the product, and it was also ordered to be recalled from the market.
The Ministry of Trade continues to announce products identified as unsafe to the public in line with market surveillance and inspection activities. In this context, a new product has been added to the Unsafe Product Information System (GÜBİS).
HEALTH RISK IDENTIFIED IN INSPECTIONS
As a result of inspections conducted by authorized organizations, it was determined that the drain opener product of the Metan brand poses a risk to human health. It was stated that the product is non-compliant with regulations and does not meet safety criteria.
SALE SUSPENDED, RECALL DECISION TAKEN
Following the findings, a sales ban was imposed on the product in question. The ministry aimed to prevent the product from being offered to consumers by ruling for its complete recall from the market.
WARNING TO CITIZENS
The Ministry of Trade emphasized that citizens should regularly monitor GÜBİS and warned that products declared unsafe should not be used under any circumstances.
