Justice Minister Yılmaz Tunç pointed to the changes made within the scope of the 9th Judicial Package, stating, "The sales procedure for vehicles that have been confiscated from traffic under the Highway Traffic Law and are found in impound lots but have not been collected by their owners or cannot be reached will be facilitated." The bill known to the public as the '9th Judicial Package' was accepted by the General Assembly of the Turkish Grand National Assembly and became law. Within the scope of the changes made, regulations were established regarding the sales procedure of vehicles that have been confiscated from traffic and have not been collected or searched for by their owners within 6 months, according to the current 1st paragraph of the additional 14th article of the Highway Traffic Law No. 2918. PAYMENTS WILL BE MADE TO RIGHT HOLDERSMinister Tunç stated, "The sales procedure for vehicles that have been confiscated from traffic under the Highway Traffic Law and are found in impound lots but have not been collected by their owners or cannot be reached will be facilitated. Additionally, the amount obtained from the sale of these vehicles will be paid to the rightful owners; if it cannot be paid to the rightful owners, it will be kept for the purpose of being paid to the rightful owners again." "THE DISPOSAL OF 15,259 VEHICLES HAS BEEN COMPLETED"Justice Tunç noted that this way, both the values of these vehicles will be preserved without losing and they will be reintegrated into the economy, and the rights of the rightful owners will be protected in the best possible way. Minister Tunç stated that with the regulation accepted in 2023, the disposal of goods that were kept in impound warehouses under the Enforcement and Bankruptcy Law but no longer needed to be legally kept has been ensured to be reintegrated into the economy, saying, "With the implementation of the communiqué published by our ministry regarding this regulation, the disposal of 15,259 vehicles has been completed so far, and the disposal process of 4,014 vehicles is still ongoing. This process will be further facilitated with the changes made."
