A giant sand pile at a construction site in Yozgat has become a nesting site for dozens of swallows. While hundreds of small holes formed in the sand pile create interesting sights, why the birds chose this spot for nesting remains a mystery.
At a construction site operating in the district center of Yozgat, a massive pile of sand stacked for work is hosting unusual guests. Dozens of swallows flocking to the area have turned the sand mound into an apartment building.
THEY CREATED A SILHOUETTE BY DIGGING WITH THEIR BEAKS
At a construction site in Sorgun district of Yozgat, a massive sand pile stacked for work has become a habitat for swallows. Dozens of swallows flocking to the site used this sand mound like an apartment, digging into the sand with their beaks to build their nests. This created a perforated silhouette on the surface of the sand pile.
"I COULDN'T UNDERSTAND WHY THEY CHOSE TO NEST HERE"
Şuheda Çetinkaya, who recorded the interesting images with her mobile phone, said, "In the sand mounds at the construction site, the nests and birds, swallows I think, caught my attention. They have built many nests. It caught my attention, and I wanted to come here and look at them. I couldn't understand while wandering. It's a bit beyond the road. I couldn't fully understand how they got here, how they found it, or why they wanted to nest here like this. When I looked closely, I thought they might be swallows. There are multiple nests. I couldn't fully understand why they preferred this place."
