The sea water in the Altınova neighborhood of the Süleymanpaşa district in Tekirdağ has receded by about 10 meters due to seasonal tides.
THE KING'S ROAD ROCKS HAVE EMERGED
As a result of this recession, the rocks known as the "King's Road" by the local people have surfaced. Hüseyin Sakalar, who was walking on the beach, stated that the sea level recedes at the same time every year, saying, "These rocks are normally underwater. But with the recession of the water in these seasons, the rocks become visible. This event happens every year."
"PEOPLE SHOULD NOT BE ANXIOUS"
Prof. Dr. Emre Özşahin, a faculty member of the Geography Department at Tekirdağ Namık Kemal University, explained that the sea recession is caused by a meteorological condition and is not an extraordinary situation. Özşahin stated, "The recession of the sea is an event that occurs periodically due to the wind blowing in the same direction during certain seasons. There is no need for people to be anxious."
AERIAL FOOTAGE WAS TAKEN
The scenery created by the sea recession was also captured from the air with a drone. The rocks that emerged as a result of the recession were closely examined by the local people and visitors.
