The second prototype of the National Combat Aircraft KAAN, developed by Turkish Aerospace Industries (TUSAŞ) under the leadership of the Presidency of Defense Industries, was presented to the public for the first time.

Prof. Dr. Haluk Görgün, the President of the Presidency of Defense Industries, shared the visual of the second prototype of the KAAN fighter jet for the first time with the press during the "2024 Year Evaluation and 2025 Year Goals Press Meeting." In his statement here, Görgün noted that a total of 6 prototypes will be produced and said, "We will make KAAN's engine nationally and locally."
FEATURES OF KAAN
It is planned for KAAN to enter the serial production phase by the end of the 2020s. The 5th generation jet fighter project draws attention with its features such as sensor fusion, low visibility, twin engines, and superior capabilities in air-to-air and air-to-ground dominance. In its second flight conducted last year, KAAN managed to stay in the air for 14 minutes, reaching a speed of 230 knots and an altitude of 10,000 feet. Additionally, KAAN has a wingspan of 14 meters, a length of 21 meters, and a height of 6 meters. KAAN's maximum speed will be 1.8 mach, service ceiling 55,000 ft, positive G limit 9G, and negative G limit 3.5 G.
