In the incident that occurred on September 25, 2022, in Bağcılar, Ali Sayan (28) stabbed his mother, Havva Sayan (58), 13 times, killing her. Sayan then severed his mother's hands, feet, and head. After showing his mother's head to the people around, Sayan threw it down from the balcony. The verdict was announced in the case where Ali Sayan, who was arrested, was being tried. The hearing at the Bakırköy 2nd High Criminal Court was attended by a lawyer from the Ministry of Family and Social Services. In the indictment prepared by the Bakırköy Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated that the defendant Ali Sayan, who was charged with killing his mother Havva Sayan, was found to have substances in the blood and urine samples taken after the incident, according to the report of the Forensic Medicine Institute. The indictment noted that the victim Havva Sayan had 13 injuries from cutting and piercing instruments on her body, 8 of which were fatal, according to the Forensic Medicine Institute report. Ali Sayan was charged with 'intentionally killing a relative by blood with monstrous feelings or by torture' and 'deliberately endangering public safety,' with a request for aggravated life imprisonment and a prison sentence of 6 months to 3 years.
