Ilhan and Bahattin Akti, brothers undergoing cancer treatment, passed away an hour apart. It was learned that the brothers would be buried in separate places due to receiving treatment in different cities.
Ilhan Akti (54), who was registered in the rural Duztaş neighborhood of the Derik district of Mardin and had been receiving treatment for 8 years at a hospital in Viranşehir, Şanlıurfa, passed away yesterday around 19:00 after falling ill. About an hour after this incident, his brother Bahattin Akti (75), who was receiving treatment for lung cancer at a hospital in Mersin, also lost his life.
THEY WILL BE BURIED IN DIFFERENT PLACES
After the autopsy procedures, Ilhan Akti's funeral was held in Viranşehir in the morning, while Bahattin Akti's funeral was buried in Mersin.
"WE HAD TO BURY THEM IN SEPARATE PLACES"
Stating that they had to bury their brothers in different places, their sibling Eşref Akti (53) said, "Receiving two death news at once deeply saddened us. My brother Bahattin was being treated in Mersin, and my brother Ilhan was in Viranşehir. First, we received the news of Ilhan's passing at 19:00, and an hour later, we learned about Bahattin's death. We were suddenly devastated and didn't know what to do. Their fates were written on the same day, and we had to bury them in separate places."
