The Disinformation Combat Center reported that the claims regarding "an airstrike alert being issued in Kahramanmaraş with sirens sounding and citizens being asked to take shelter" before the recent developments in Aleppo do not reflect the truth.
The Presidency of Communication's Disinformation Combat Center (DMM) reported that the claims stating "an airstrike alarm was issued in Kahramanmaraş and sirens were sounded, asking citizens to go to shelters before the recent developments in Aleppo" do not reflect the truth.
"IT WAS CARRIED OUT AS PART OF THE WARNING AND ALARM SYSTEM TEST AND EXERCISE"
In a statement made from DMM's social media account, it was noted: "The claims circulating on some social media accounts and media outlets, stating that 'an airstrike alarm was issued in Kahramanmaraş and sirens were sounded, asking citizens to go to shelters before the recent developments in Aleppo' contain disinformation.
The siren sounds and warnings were carried out as part of the previously planned Warning and Alarm System (IKAS) test and exercise by AFAD. Therefore, it has no relation to the processes occurring in Aleppo. It is strongly requested that the public does not give credence to such baseless shares aimed at causing panic in society."
