The murder of Veysi Çevik, who was shot dead with a long-barreled weapon in the Sur district of Diyarbakır in 2015, was solved by a special team established by the gendarmerie. Six suspects related to the incident were arrested 11 years later.
On August 29, 2015, in Diyarbakır, a comprehensive investigation was conducted by a special team formed by the Provincial Gendarmerie Command's Gendarmerie Crime Investigation Teams (JASAT), Criminal Branch, and Intelligence Branch, along with personnel from the District Gendarmerie Command, regarding the murder of Veysi Çevik with a long-barreled weapon on the Diyarbakır-Bingöl highway.
A LARGE NUMBER OF TECHNICAL DATA WERE EXAMINED
As part of the investigations, technical data obtained through JABS, PARS, Detective, PTS, HTS, I2, and narrowed base analyses were examined. The statements were evaluated in detail.
6 RELATIVES OF THE SUSPECTS WERE CAPTURED 11 YEARS LATER
Based on the analysis conducted by the teams and the examination reports of the findings obtained from the crime scene, it was determined that the murder of Veysi Çevik was carried out in collaboration by relatives M.K., M.K., A.K., R.K., S.K., and M.K.
The 6 suspects who were detained were arrested by the court they were brought to at the courthouse and were handed over to the Diyarbakır Closed Penal Institution.
