Esra Muratoğlu, who was strangled to death in her home in Ankara, was laid to rest in her hometown of Çankırı. Her boyfriend and mother, who were taken into custody, stated in their testimonies that he was in a drug crisis at the time of the incident, approached them with a knife, and that the incident occurred while they were trying to protect themselves.
In Ankara, yesterday morning, Esra Muratoğlu (28) had an argument with her mother Çilem Y. (48) and her alleged boyfriend Orhan K. (34) in the house they lived in. Esra Muratoğlu was found to have been strangled to death, and her boyfriend and mother were taken into custody as suspects regarding the murder.
FAREWELL TO HER LAST JOURNEY
Esra Muratoğlu's funeral was brought to her hometown Çankırı after the autopsy at the Ankara Forensic Medicine Institution. Her family and relatives attended the funeral in the village of Sumucak in the Kurşunlu district. Her relatives shed tears at the head of Muratoğlu's coffin.
Esra Muratoğlu, who had three children under state protection, was buried in the village cemetery after the funeral prayer held at noon.

Suspects Çilem Y. and Orhan K. were referred to the courthouse after their procedures at the police station. In their statements at the police, the suspects claimed that Esra Muratoğlu was using drugs, that she had a crisis on the morning of the incident, and that she came at them with a knife. The suspects asserted that the incident occurred while they were trying to protect themselves.
The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
