CONTROVERSIAL STATEMENTS
Responding to criticisms regarding the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) police in the US, Trump said, "I think it's appropriate for Minnesota to be so involved and for me to keep telling my people this, but they don't express it as they should because they are very busy with other things. They are catching murderers, drug dealers, and many bad people."
Describing the shooting of a woman by ICE police in Minneapolis, Minnesota, as a "tragedy," Trump noted that authorities in Minnesota had detained 10,000 "criminals" and claimed that there was $19 billion in corruption in the state, arguing that this money was "largely" given to Somalis.

Continuing his remarks, he used generalizing and derogatory expressions about Somalis, stating, "Somalia is not even a country. They have nothing that resembles a country. They are low IQ people, but they come here and get rich. They buy Mercedes even when they have never had money." These words quickly spread on social media and received intense criticism.
WHAT HAPPENED?
On January 7, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, ICE officers shot and killed a US citizen woman in her vehicle during operations targeting immigrants.
Secretary of Homeland Security Kristi Noem claimed that the individual had "tried to run over ICE officers and hit them with her vehicle."
A video shared on social media showed that citizens nearby attempted to record the ICE police operations with their cell phones, and it depicted the female driver being forcibly attempted to have her car door opened by an officer while watching the events from inside her vehicle in the middle of the road.
Subsequently, as the female driver attempted to escape by turning the steering wheel, another ICE officer approached the front of her vehicle, drew his weapon, and fired three shots at close range.
