The suspect, who killed 21-year-old Hazem Muhammed, the brother of the woman he wanted to marry in Güngören, with a gun, set out to flee to Syria after the incident. As a result of coordinated efforts by Istanbul and Hatay police, the suspect was apprehended and taken into custody near the Cilvegözü Border Gate.

KILLED THE BROTHER OF THE WOMAN HE WANTED TO MARRY

In the incident that occurred in the Güngören district of Istanbul, Syrian national M.D. (37) argued with Hazem Muhammed (21), the brother of the woman he wished to marry. As the argument escalated, M.D. fired his pistol at Muhammed.

21-year-old Hazem Muhammed died from his severe injuries, while the suspect fled the scene.

TRACKING FROM ISTANBUL TO HATAY

Following the murder, Istanbul Police Department teams began tracking the suspect's vehicle. Considering the possibility that M.D. might flee to Syria, coordination was established with the Hatay Police Department.

Police teams increased security measures on the routes leading to the Cilvegözü Border Gate in the Reyhanlı district.

APPREHENDED NEAR THE BORDER GATE

As a result of the operations, the vehicle carrying the suspect was detected near the Cilvegözü Border Gate. The murder suspect M.D. and the driver M.S. were taken into custody. It was learned that the two detained suspects would be sent to Istanbul after their procedures at the police station.
