In Istanbul’s Esenyurt district, a suspect who opened fire with a gun at the workplace of a jeweler he had argued with injured the owner of the adjacent pharmacy in the leg. While fleeing after the attack, the suspect robbed a passing woman of her car at gunpoint and abandoned the vehicle in Çatalca. The incident occurred at noon in Piri Reis Neighborhood. Allegedly, an argument broke out between the jeweler and 2 people in the morning. One of the two people who left the workplace, D.D., returned shortly afterward and opened fire on the workplace with a gun. In the attack, bullets hit the jewelry shop and the adjacent pharmacy. The pharmacy owner, C.Ç., was wounded in his left leg. Police and medical teams were dispatched to the scene after a report. The injured person was taken to the hospital after first aid by medical teams.
HE FLED BY CARJACKING THE CAR OF A WOMAN PASSING BY
After the attack, D.D., who fled running from the scene, blocked the car he encountered on a street and carjacked the vehicle of the driver N.Y., whom he threatened with a gun. Police teams that launched work on the incident received a tip that the suspect was at a raw meatball shop in Çatalca Muratbey Neighborhood. Upon the tip, teams went to the address and detained D.D. It was learned that the suspect's statement procedures at the police station are ongoing.
