In Ankara, the attacker who set fire to a beauty salon and a car operated by a 33-year-old woman and then fired a shotgun at her in the middle of the street has been arrested. Describing what she experienced, the woman said that the suspect continued his threats at the police station, saying, "I will continue my remaining work after I get out of here." The unfortunate woman stated, "I am afraid. I do not want him to be released. If I had died, it would have been a femicide. I absolutely do not want him to be released; that is my only wish."
A beauty salon and car operated by Esra Ö. in Ankara were set on fire by Hasan Hüseyin G., who claimed to be her ex-girlfriend. After the incident, the suspect, who fired a shotgun on the street, was arrested. Esra Ö. stated that the suspect, who continued his threats even at the police station, should be kept behind bars as soon as possible.
In the early hours of yesterday morning in the Karacaören neighborhood of Altındağ district, Hasan Hüseyin G. (47) doused with gasoline and set fire to the beauty salon operated by Esra Ö. (33), whom he claimed to be his ex-girlfriend, and her parked car. When Esra Ö. noticed the situation and went outside, she saw Hasan Hüseyin G. holding a gun. As Esra Ö. fled, Hasan Hüseyin G. fired at her. Esra Ö. escaped without injury. The suspect was taken into custody, while the fire at the workplace and car was extinguished by the fire department. After his statement to the gendarmerie, Hasan Hüseyin G. was referred to the courthouse and arrested by the court.
"HE WAS FOLLOWING ME ON SOCIAL MEDIA WITH DIFFERENT NAMES"
Esra Ö., mother of two children, recounted her experience to DHA at her heavily damaged workplace after the fire. Stating that her husband passed away 13 years ago and that she raised her two children, Esra Ö. claimed that Hasan Hüseyin G. had been following her on social media from different accounts for about two years, saying, "Since I had no connection with him, I didn't pay much attention; I was living my own life. Six months ago, this person said he wanted to meet. He said he was thinking of a relationship with me. I didn't accept. He continued these threats. Sending gifts to my addresses, constantly calling me to get a response from me."
"HE SAID, 'I WILL BURN YOUR LIFE DOWN'"
Describing the day of the incident, Esra Ö. said, "There was someone I had been seeing for a long time in my life, and we decided to get married. I made a post about it on my social media accounts. He saw my post and started making threats like 'You can't get married, you can't look at anyone else but me.' He said, 'I will burn your life down.' My boyfriend and I didn't believe he would do such things. I woke up in the morning to find my car on fire. That evening, he also threatened me, saying, 'I will make your life a living hell.' I didn't believe him, but when I got up in the morning, my car was on fire. He also burned down my shop. I will not remain indifferent to anything he has done. I will not withdraw my complaint."

Esra Ö., stating that she is scared, said, "I have two children. I heard his threats at the police station. His family also called me, offering money to withdraw my complaint. I absolutely do not accept that. Above all, my dignity, pride, and honor come before money. I can restore the shop. Since my husband passed away, I have never asked anyone for a single lira. I got by scraping together with my fingernails, working day and night. If he had been able to shoot that bullet at me, I would have died and become a femicide. At the police station, while I was inside, he was shouting from below. We even came face to face at the window. He said, 'After I get out of here, I will finish what's left of my business; you will not get married.' Am I scared because of his threats? Yes, I am scared. I don't want him to be released. I ask the authorities for help on this matter. As long as he is not released, I am at ease. If I had died yesterday when he fired at me, my two children would have gone to my family or to an orphanage; no one would have taken care of them. If I had died, it would have been a femicide, and I would have been talked about as a femicide. Now I am alive and can speak. I absolutely do not want him to be released; that is my only wish. For the future, whatever justice decides, we are on its side."
