As part of the operation, the SNA has captured the villages of Shevergaelrız, Tennep, Malikiyye, Keffin, Kefernaya, Miskan, El-Cuz, Tatmıraş, Tel İneb, Mezeret Hamad, Zoyan, Maranaz, Algamiyye, Burcelgas, Minnığ, Telaccaz, Harabşems, Kutale, Ayn Dakne, Deyr Cemal, and Zukkebir, as well as the Kuveyris and Minnığ airports and Zuyan Hill.
24 VILLAGES LIBERATED FROM TERRORIST ORGANIZATION
The SNA forces, which liberated the center of Tel Rifat from the PKK/YPG, also cleared the villages of Sheale, Radar Sheale, and Neyrebiyye, which the organization used as bases in its attacks targeting settlements in safe areas. Thus, today, in addition to the district center, 24 villages have been liberated from the terrorist organization PKK/YPG in Tel Rifat.
THEY TOOK SEFIRE FROM THE REGIME'S HANDS
Meanwhile, military opposition forces have retaken the district of Sefire, located southeast of the city center of Aleppo, from the Assad regime forces as part of the operation.
FREEDOM DAWN OPERATION
With the armed groups opposing the regime launching an operation against Aleppo on November 27, the Syrian regime forces entered into cooperation with the terrorist organization PKK/YPG and handed over some areas to the organization. The terrorist organization began to fortify these areas by bringing reinforcements from the east of the Euphrates River to the Aleppo region.
In response to preparations for establishing a terrorist corridor between Tel Rifat and Manbij, the Syrian National Army launched the Freedom Dawn Operation against the PKK/YPG. After the district of Tel Rifat was besieged, the district center was liberated from terrorism.
PKK/YPG'S OCCUPATION OF TEL RIFAT
YPG/PKK terrorists captured Tel Rifat and some surrounding settlements in February 2016 with the support of Russian airstrikes. The terrorist organization displaced approximately 250,000 civilians from Tel Rifat and its surroundings, with this population seeking refuge in areas close to the Turkish border.
The YPG/PKK was attacking the Turkish security forces and the positions of opposition fighters that provided security in the areas of the Euphrates Shield Operation and Olive Branch Operation from here. The terrorist organization PKK/YPG, which occupied the district of Tel Rifat, tried to hold the district with the cooperation of the Bashar Assad regime and its supporters. After the armed groups opposing the Assad regime entered the city center of Aleppo on November 29, regime forces withdrew their elements from Tel Rifat.
