The Meteorology Department issued a warning of heavy downpours and storms for many parts of the country. While temperatures are expected to drop by 2 to 4 degrees, a yellow code warning has been issued for 15 provinces against the risk of floods and water overflows. Authorities urged citizens to take precautions, especially in areas expected to receive heavy rainfall.
The General Directorate of Meteorology (MGM) has issued heavy rain and storm warnings for many regions of the country. While temperatures are expected to drop by 2 to 4 degrees across the country, yellow-coded flood warnings have been issued for 15 provinces.
YELLOW-CODED ALERT FOR 15 PROVINCES
The provinces warned with a yellow code by Meteorology are Adana, Afyonkarahisar, Antalya, Aydın, Burdur, Denizli, Isparta, Mersin, Konya, Muğla, Niğde, Uşak, Aksaray, Karaman, and Osmaniye. Authorities urged citizens to be cautious and take precautions against possible floods, inundations, and transportation disruptions in these regions.
HEAVY DOWNPOUR EXPECTED
According to Meteorology's latest assessments, showers and thunderstorms will be effective in the eastern Marmara, Southern and Inner Aegean, Western and Central Mediterranean, Central Anatolia, inner parts of the Western Black Sea, Central and Eastern Black Sea, and northern Eastern Anatolia.
Precipitation is expected to be locally heavy, especially in the inner parts of the Southern Aegean, inner parts of the Mediterranean, southern Central Anatolia, Eskişehir surroundings, and western Ankara.
TEMPERATURES WILL DROP BY 4 DEGREES
According to Meteorology data, temperatures will decrease by 2 to 4 degrees across the country. Nevertheless, temperatures in the Southeastern Anatolia Region will continue to be above seasonal norms.
STORM WARNING ALSO ISSUED
Winds are expected to blow at speeds of 40 to 60 kilometers per hour on the Marmara and Northern Aegean coasts and in Eastern Anatolia.
Meteorology warned citizens against floods, inundations, lightning, local hail, and transportation disruptions due to heavy rain; and against roof blow-offs and fallen trees due to strong winds.
